The S-Desk “22” is an adjustable height standing desk converter that attractively helps you get the perfect ergonomic standing position, for computer, craft or detail work. Supplied flat packed, it requires no tools or fastenings and can be assembled in seconds. Designed, made and hand finished by us in the UK from sustainable source European Birch plywood.

Was lucky enough to get a prototype version of one of these standing desks to test out a month ago. I really needed to get out of my seat as I was not moving enough and really feeling sluggish whilst working. Standing and working as changed this all around – I actually feel like my work is ‘working’ rather than me being an observer slumped in my chair. An added bonus is that the bad back that has been niggling me for years is all but gone as my lower back feels stronger and my posture is more upright, just after a few weeks of standing. Top tip – get a soft mat for under your feet, standing and working can be really hard on them!

I’ve had my s-desk for about two weeks now and it’s absolutely perfect. Completely worth the price of admission as, unlike many standing desk converters, you’re able to independently place the top and bottom shelves anywhere along the structure. You’re not stuck looking down at your laptop screen all day long.
I have a 15″ MacBook Pro sitting on the top shelf and the gaps on the side of the desk align perfectly with the USB-C ports so plugging in or using adapters was not a problem. The bottom shelf fits an Apple Magic Keyboard and Mouse great with the keyboard able to be ergonomically center-aligned with my MacBook. Don’t feel cramped at all with plenty of space leftover on the left for my coffee and the center groove is perfect for holding my iPhone and iPad (12.9″).
The desk is engineered exceptionally well and it’s sturdy with no play or wobble (side-to-side or front-to-back) in the desk, the shelves, or my MacBook screen while typing. The individual shelves are able to lock into place in any of the notches so even though I’m shorter, I was able to find the right settings to be comfortable all day. The shelves are easy to move up and down as I alternate throughout the day using a balance board.
The birchwood is so smooth to the touch but is holding up after a lot of abuse with no scratches or marks. And while super random, just like the above review, it does smell amazing.
