I actually only bought this for the inner pieces to use with my iPad Pro and Apple Pencil – it props the iPad up a just the right angle for drawing and writing. The rubber bits on top keep everything nice secure. I didn’t think I’d use the taller part but I’ve started taking it with me when I use my laptop and it’s the spot on height, got to use it with a separate keyboard and mouse though!

The whole concept of Helmm really floats my boat – from the British design and manufacture, to the eco-friendly materials, and the general coolness of the products, and so I loved my La Stand when I got it, have lived with it for a while now… and still love it!
It puts my laptop screen at a perfect height, and forces me to have the screen further away, stopping me hunching over my laptop like some crazed maniac, which saves me from the standard laptop-induced neck strain! The snugness of the pieces wears off with use, but this is no bad thing as it becomes easier to build, with no detrimental effect on the sturdiness. And whats more – it folds away nice and neatly into the supplied carry bag in seconds – a beautiful finishing touch to my minimalist mobile office 🙂

Shipping Information

Currently our standing desks and laptop stands are made to order. Production time is two weeks and we will email you when your order is ready for shipping. If we have any in stock we will let you know and send your order out next day.

For free UK mainland delivery we use Royal Mail Parcel Force’s 48hr service for larger items and Royal Mail 2nd Class for smaller items.

If you are within a 25mile radius of our workshop we will personally deliver your desk.

If you would like to collect your items you can do so with prior arrangement, just indicate you would like to do this at checkout.

International shipping rates are calculated at checkout but do not include your local import fees or taxes. You will need to check your liability for this before making your order.

What height person would this be suitable for?

The La-Stand laptop stand will suit anyone of any height. Just place the stand on your desk or bench, then pop your laptop on top! For optimal ergonomics adjust the height of your seat so your eye level is just above the top of your screen. Use the laptop stand along with a separate keyboard and mouse (typing on your laptop keyboard whilst on top of the stand would be uncomfortable and possibly make you look like a chimpanzee).

How does it work?

The La-Stand is dual purpose and can be used in two ways:
1. All parts assembled together. This is strongest support for a laptop only. Just place your laptop on top and you are good to go.
2. Pop out the inner triangles and connect them with the cross bracing bar – use this as a tablet support for drawing/typing/browsing or as a lower laptop stand that you can type at. The La-Stand comes with two cross bracing bars so you can use both stands at the same time.

What is the laptop stand made from?

18mm thick, BB grade European Birch faced plywood. This is a natural product made from registered sustainable sources. The final products are finished by hand and wood is left natural, unvarnished and unstained. The top edges are lined with a UK produced 2mm thick silicone rubber that is dark grey in colour.

Full Description

Our La-Stand is the ultimate wooden laptop stand. It’s dual purpose design can be used with or without a keyboard for a minor or major lift to make sure you are sitting in the most ergonomic position.

Are you an iPad Pro and Apple pencil user (or any tablet and stylus combo)? The the La-Stand is made for you. Just pop out the inner supports and place your tablet on them for the optimal drawing and drafting position. Each laptop stand is supplied with two cross brace pieces so you can use the outer supports at the same time for your laptop. Great for Astropad users!

The top edges of the La-Stand are lined with 2mm silicone rubber to protect your devices and keep them secure.

When it’s time to hit the road the La-Stand comes apart so it can easily be slipped into your bag along with your other gear.

We use PEFC certified birch faced plywood made from sustainable sources to high ecological standards. Each laptop stand is precision CNC cut and then hand finished, test assembled and de-assembled for shipping.
